Why is the Bible important?
The Bible was written over a period of about 1500 years by more than 40 different authors, men and women, rich and poor, from all walks of life. They wrote during war and peace, in cities and wilderness, palaces and prisons, on topics including history, law, philosophy, poetry, drama, romance, biography, sociology and prophecy. Despite this diversity, the Bible has an amazing unity focused on Jesus and God’s purpose for humanity, because it’s God's book and the writers acted like His secretaries.
