Why is Baptism Important?
Water baptism is one of the most common expressions of faith in Christianity. It is not merely a religious ritual. It’s an important step in the growth and declaration of every believer.
Jesus himself was baptized. Jesus was born the sinless Son of God, but He was also fully man and lived a sinless life. He humbled himself and was baptized in obedience to identify with us and give us an example to follow.
In addition to His example, we have His command to be baptized. The great commission in Matt 28 commands us to go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
